I love the following fandoms very much, so you can't go wrong with whatever you've matched on.

I do ship the characters I've selected for Earth Star Voyager (well, minus the Worldbuilding), Coldfire Trilogy, and Willow, and have shipping options listed in The Quick and the Dead and Fallout. Prisoner's Exchange Letter

Prison as a crucible. Turn on the fire, in whatever method you enjoy (that doesn't get into my DNWs), and make those characters get closer together--physically, yes, but definitely emotionally. Break down barriers, expose weak spots and shine a light on strengths, forge new bonds and test the ones that are already there. Sex between my combos is amazing, but not essential. I want to see these characters desperate to save each other, or depending on each other in ways they didn't expect to do, or crossing those barriers that they'd so desperately held onto in less stressful times.

Generally I'm uninterested in the captors in these requests (Captor!Snape is obviously an exception), so feel free to do what you like in that regard. I'd prefer you use either a known enemy or invent one of your own - I would rather not read a situation where a known ally in canon is a surprise antagonist.

Goodie-getting opportunities

I would guess that it's pretty obvious that I mostly do fandom through exchanges these days, considering most of what I post over here is letters and the resulting fic. I've been having a lot of fun with them the past couple of years - I've gotten great gifts and I've met great people.

I know that exchanges aren't everyone's thing, though. But! There are some upcoming fests where you have the opportunity to *get* gifts without committing yourself to creating anything. And if you're looking for prompts to create for, these are good places to look, because again, there's no commitment.

auexchange is open for sign ups until July 9, but the fest portion is taking prompts until September 1. (Reveals are on Sept 2, though, so if you leave a prompt on the 1st, your likelihood of getting something is pretty low.)

The theme is obviously Alternate Universes, but that can vary from the slightest canon divergence to the most wild mermaids or sentient Girl Scout Cookies or Star Wars fusions your heart desires. There's a huge tagset to choose from here, and if you want something that's not in there, you can still nominate it. You can leave up to 10 prompts. There's no guarantee that you'll get a gift, but hey, why not ask for something if you want it?

Also, anyone can fill prompts. And yes, there's claiming, but there's no limit on claims.

littleblackdressex (That's Little Black Dress Exchange, not Little Black Dress Sex) also has a prompt fest that anyone can add requests to. The theme of this one is that character you ship with almost anybody. You request a particular character, and then someone (in theory) gives you a gift of that character shipped with another. You can be particular about what gender and/or number of characters you want them shipped with, but within those bounds, you can only say no to (Do Not Want) five particular ships, so you need to think carefully about your requests.

(The exchange only lets you have three Do Not Wants, which is why some people prefer to stick to the prompt fest.)

Request for SGA requests

So, claw me open, rearrange my insides brings me to 75 Stargate Atlantis stories posted on my AO3 account. Which seems, strangely enough, not very many, considering I've been in that fandom for ~~nearly 20 years~~ a while.

I'd like to get that number to 100.

With that in mind, I would adore some SGA requests.

I can't guarantee that I'll write every request I get, because sometimes the brain doesn't cooperate. And I don't know when I'll finish this goal. But I will do my very best.

I'll write any combination of John, Rodney, Teyla, and Ronon, and also Lorne. John/Todd, John/Rodney/Todd, and John/Teyla/Todd, Ronon/Elizabeth, Lorne/Elizabeth, and probably quite a few others I haven't thought of! Specific prompts are welcome, but not necessary, and do tell me if there's something you really don't want me to include.

I won't write: Sheppard/Weir, McKay/Keller, or Lorne/Parrish. And I'm unlikely to write deathfic, noncon between my SGA peeps, or extremely sad ending stories. (You can ask, but I doubt I'll be able to go there.)

Ancient history recs

Hello, all. I keep thinking that one of these I'm going to actually talk to you guys...and apparently that day is the day. *waves*

I thought I'd drop a few YouTube channel recs, since I've been enjoying the more educational content over there for a while. Today's theme is ancient history and archeology.

Fall of Civilizations Podcast. [As the name indicates, this actually is a podcast which you can find on Spotify and other podcast places. The youtube channel has both the podcast versions and versions with relevant visual information.]

These are long (the shortest is an hour), incredibly well researched documentaries about various civilizations through various periods of history, throughout the world. The creator (Paul) narrates with a slow, calm voice, and includes guest actors to read various historical passages that are relevant to the tale. And while it's about the 'fall' of a civilization, he always starts at the beginning (or well before) and gives you a pretty thorough picture of what happens during. I find that these have really helped me put together a more complete picture of how these chunks of time and regions of the world interacted with each other.

A bit of a warning - these tend to feel pretty melancholic, and the very end of each episode is especially melancholy, as he asks you consider what it felt like during the fall of the civilization. So you might want to skip the last few minutes if you're feeling blue.

Ancient Americas. Oh, I love this one so much! His voice isn't quite as pleasing to my ear, but I still really enjoy his style. But it's really the content for these that always makes me go wow. He takes a deep dive into the various ancient civilizations of the Americas, and not just the quick glimpses of the Aztec, Maya, and Inca that I got way back when I was in school. The videos are 20-30 minutes, which is enough to give you a nicely detailed overview of the topic.

Artifactually Speaking. This is a small channel with nicely produced, short videos - done by the archeologist currently in charge of the excavations at Ur. Yes, that Ur. I kind of flailed a lot when I realized what this is. He shows you the actual excavations sites and talks about the little artifacts that they've found and what they mean. It's just really cool to me, and I thought some of you might, too.

He has some earlier videos which are focused on looking at money and economics from an archeological/anthropological perspective, and the ones I've watched have been pretty interesting, too.

Fannish business first: I am open to (and gladly welcome!) treats. My AO3 name is tigerlady (shetiger).

Thank you so much for offering to create for me! These are all pairings that I love very, very much, whichever one you write. The one thing I want the most is to see these couples very much into each other (even if they might not start out that way, as in Hermione/Severus.) They absolutely want to get it on, and they have really intense feelings for each other (even if they might not admit it out loud).

If there are tags that I feel need more clarifying, I'll put more info down, but I'm not going to write something for every one of the freeform tags. Please know that I want all of them equally! Some might stack well together, and others are in complete opposition to each other.

I love competence in general and especially the competence of these characters. A lot of them are fighters/warriors, and all of them have experienced war and/or fighting for their lives. Feel free to have them do terrible things, shoot people, kill people, beat people up, get beaten up and bloodied themselves, get tortured, or just generally put them through the wringer. I'd prefer they be mostly patched up before they have sex, though.

I added the Graphic Violence Warning to allow you to play with the above if you'd like to, but I'm not actually in need of graphic violence to make me happy. If you'd just really like to focus on sweet, sappy sex, I'm here for that! What I Do Not Want is intentional, malicious, or angry violence between the couple/threesome. (Please see Hermione/Severus request below for exception.) All good: Sparring, stick-fighting practice, knife-fighting practice, gaffee-stick practice, wrestling, playful fights for dominance, including bumps and bruises that might happen along the way with any of those. I'm also okay with sexualized cutting/knife play.

In addition, I have added the Noncon Warning and Underage Warning to my Hermione/Severus request to give you the freedom to play. I would prefer sex between them to be more on the dubcon side rather than outright rape - so maybe Hermione gets in over her head, or they're both forced by a situation to have sex with each other - but they both enjoy it, even if there are traumatic elements involved. If you matched on this warning looking for outright rape/noncon, that is also fine. I would prefer that both characters eventually enjoy the sex and there are eventually some kind of warm feelings between them. It's fine if they are raped by other characters, though I prefer then the sex in the story to be focused on Hermione/Severus. For Underage, please nothing with Hermione (or Severus, if you want to play with magical shenanigans) below 15/5th year. It's fine to use the Time Turner to age her up, but again, nothing below 5th year sex-wise.

As to the graphic violence tag, I feel like this should be driven by the tag/trope. For example, if Hermione is caught in a Death Eater party situation, or Hermione being given to Severus by Voldemort, I'm totally okay with some violence towards Hermione, but I would prefer Severus to have more protective than hurtful feelings towards her, even if forced to torture/noncon her.

(I'm also fine with something post-canon, with adult Hermione, and happy consensual sex when she's in school or after.)

I keep thinking I'll make a 'hello, it's the new year!' post. Possibly it will happen before the end of January. In the meantime, here are the holiday fest exchange stories I wrote. (Including my Yuletide fic. Hey, it's still January!) I was trying my best with all of these to write *short*. And they got shorter and moodier as I went, lol.
